We Reuse Scuba Gear!
[h=3]Looking to Sell or Donate your dive gear?[/h]If you have scuba, snorkeling, or commercial dive gear that you don't want to ever see again, box it up and send it to us using the shipping information in the yellow box above (Locals can bring it by the dive shop).
Please include a written inventory, with your name and address, and include an applicable phrase:
I READ YOUR GEAR/REUSE POLICY, KEEP THE GEAR, SEND ME THE MONEY.
or: I READ YOUR GEAR/REUSE POLICY, KEEP THE GEAR, I'M DONATING IT.
We pay realistic time-proven values with respect to today's market. Unfortunately, for reasons explained further down the page, we cannot give estimates (non-binding or other) of value prior to sending you a check or donation slip. If you have valuable equipment and are nervous about sending it our way, call 206-298-6998 and ask for the buyer and owner, John. You won't get any sort of gear appraisal or estimate but if we do our job, you should come away from the call feeling comfortable about sending us your equipment. However, if you are local you can bring your gear to the shop and we can let you know what we will pay for it.
We mail out checks on Tuesdays and Thursdays. Make a note if you need rush service or would like trade-in credit. Please include manuals and BCD weight pouches.
Additional information below:

"Thank You", John Burns, Owner

The most gratifying thing we do is to get scuba gear out of garages, serviced, and back into the water. This process is commonly referred to as recycling. However, it is a greener process than recycling and is more accurately known as "Reuse".
You can sleep well knowing that 98 cents of every dollar spent on reused dive gear goes back into our national economy. I encourage you to support the businesses who sell reused products.

 • Your support helps our world in a number of ways. *
 • Reuse reduces the strain on valuable resources, such as fuel, forests and water supplies, and therefore helps sustain viable Oceans around the world.
 • Reuse saves money in purchases and disposal costs
 • Reuse keeps goods and materials out of wasteful landfills
 • Reuse creates less air and water pollution than making a new item or recycling (recycling is better described as reprocessing an item into raw material for use in a new product).
 • Reuse preserves the “embodied energy” that was originally used to manufacture an item
 • Reuse results in less hazardous waste
 • Reuse generates new business and employment opportunities for small entrepreneurs and large enterprises
 • Reuse creates an affordable supply of goods that are often of better quality than what is currently manufactured.
There are many good reasons for us to reuse products such as scuba equipment.
If you buy, sell, or donate through Discount Divers Supply, you can feel better knowing you helped make the world a better place in a dozen different ways.
