Marek K:
Gentlemen--

Since we're talking things Dutch (the language), I've got a serious question...

My wife and I visited Amsterdam from Germany back in 1990. We saw a performance of The National Ballet, and still have a framed program cover up on the wall. The main piece was a world premiere performance of a ballet called "Aartsengelen slachten den hemel rood."

I've always wondered what that meant. Archangels striking heaven red? Wha...?

--Marek
Close but no cigar. :D Slachten => to slaughter

Oooh... *winces* ... Strike/slaughter... pretty close...

So... Archangels slaughter heaven (until it's) red? Huh?

It wasn't a violent ballet...

Though the program cover is almost all red...
Thou shallt not try understanding art :11:

Though attendance was a bit less than expected, the weather as fine, the drinks were cold and we had two great dives in Zeeland as can be seen on the pictures.

Sites used: Nieuwe Kerkweg and Zoetersbout.

Yeah....did anyone else actually come and not find us? It's a good thing I brought a couple of friends or it wouldn't have even looked like a real event.... :)
