This is a very minimally cropped macro image of a nudibranch about two inches wide:

This is about as wide-angley as I've gotten yet in Puget Sound:

Another wide-angley shot, but not very well lit:

All taken with the EPL-1, Inon D2000 strobe, 14-42 kit lens (version 1, I believe).

Nice shots. So, it looks like it is possible to do some macro shooting with just the kit lens (no diopter wet lens), at least for some of the larger nudibranchs. That is good to know.

Nice pics Lynne. It answered some of the questions I had wrt the 14-42mms. I just purchased an E-PL5 and it came with the 14-42mm IIR lens. Still debating if I should opt for a 100Bar housing with semi port and then order the semi dome lens adapater and a macro wet lens or go the Oly PT-10 route which advertised being suitable for the 9-18mm, 14-42 and the 60mm with possibly their version of lens adapter and a macro lens. I am aware of the Zen port for the Oly housing but this could probably wait for a while as a strobe (YS-D1) and a focus/video light would serve me better.
