Yes, in using Premiere 6.0 I have often edited in AVI format, then exported certain slips or sequences of video to MPEG-2 to create smaller files to share with others.
There must be a way to do this with Elements 3.0 and HDV footage since it is already in MPEG-2 format... I just need to RTFM (hmmm... maybe it is all digital since I don't remember any manual in the box).
I continue to be amazed at how flawlessly Elements 3.0 interfaces with my HC-7 on a 5,400 rpm drive. I did not expect this. Editing has been a breeze in many respects, although I still need to figure out how to do a few things I could do more easily in Premiere 6.0 with my mini-DV footage.
And Elements 3.0 has only frozen up once over the past 3-4 days of editing. Much better than Premiere 6.0 in my experience.
