This is my housing:

I was thinking of something like this, I just don't know how to securely attach it to the housing:

You could unscrew one of the arms from teh base tray, slide the ring of the lanyard onto the base tray (assumining it fits on the tray) and then re-attach the arm.

I use the same type that RonFrank shows with the small loop secured around the Ikelite tray. I put the small loop around the base and threaded the rest of the clips and bungee thing through the small loop to secure it in place.
