I'm supprised that no one knows this?!?!

I'm considering a FFM but would like to know what courses others out there would recomend for FFM instruction. Any help would be greatly appreciated.

OTS offers a great course on repair and maintenance of the Interspiro MK-II (AGA) mask, Contact John Hott about scheduling

(OTS is the only Interspiro authorized service tech. instruction center)

I do not know of a course that SSI offers for FFM but I am not an SSI instructor.

If agency is not important to you we offer a YMCA FFM diver course at FSU

Jeff,

I'm looking for information on training for use of a FFM. I would guess that this type of thing would be coverd under a equipment techniques class but, I'm not certain of this. If the YMCA FFM course a class specifically for FFM's only or more broad.

Thanks,

SD

The course covers inspection, set-up and use of full-face mask units. A dive is conducted in confined water to practice emergency procedures and then two open water dives are conducted.

Jeff,

Thanks for the reply. A couple of my buddies want to look in to FFM's but were unsure of the proper training. It would seem in the murky enviroment that we're in we loose sight of each other long before we loose audible communications but then again we don't know more code that well to do tank clanking in code :D

We figured that reserved use of electronic ultrasonic two-way communicators would be a good way to go. I want to make sure that we could handle something like this and the proper training would be good.

I didn't notice the thread until now. Ocean Reef has a course specific to their mask. Of course the class doesn't result in a cert from an agency. I teach a FFM class as a PADI distinctive specialty which is essentially the Ocean Reef class but isn't manufacturer specific. if you haven't found anything yet PM me and I can try to find out if anyone near you teaches the class. You could also contact some of the agencies directly for info on oinstructors who teach FFM.
