How long should you wait to dive after flying? is there a recommended time limit, or and unwritten rule of how long to wait after flying before diving??

This question is best answered by what is the time it is going to take you to get to the water. My last trip to Florida from alaska I flew 20 hours with a layover involved drove 4 hours and then did a three tank dive. So my answer was I waited 4 hours after flying to dive. If I had driven faster it would have only been three hours. As outlined above your only concern is flying after diving in which case to be safest allow 24 hours or watch the no fly on your computer for the minium no fly time

No reason not to fly and then dive, we used to dive out of a seaplane, that was quick.
