On one of our trips to OF, in May, they cancelled the AM boats due to localized severe thunderstorms over the east end. We jumped in the car and dove the westside Turtle reef for the day. Great day. The point being there will be lots of options even if you do find an odd day here or there of bad weather. Hurricane season is another story but that is not your issue.
Last visit there we drove over to Eden Rock for some afternoon shore dives... was lovely. Lots of dive options on GC.

I like Turtle Reef, Macabuca for shore diving. They have a good dive op, easy water access, great site and a bar right on the ocean so you can have a drink a snack or a meal when your dive day is over, and maybe even watch the sun go down.
