Grand Cayman: Seaview

Any word on what will become of the old Seaview property. I'd heard it would not be repaired/rebuilt, that it was sold and that all personnel had been let go?

Is the same true for the bar and resturant?

It has been sold (apparantly,) will probably be turned into condo's or a restaurant, like everything else over here.

Dan Tibbetts is buying it and going to build condos &/or a hotel.

It's where we stayed for our OW cert dives in 2001, and where I stayed anytime we weren't doing a kids/family high-end vacation in GC. And its where my son and I went for his junior OW cert dives last year. Very Sad to see it go....

I hope the staff have survived the change and found new opportunities on the island?

Sad news. I used to work at Parrot's Landing, and lived a few doors down the street past the Seaview. Seems like I could never make it home at the end of the day without stopping in - Don & Lana cleverly had Happy Hour starting right about the time the dive staff got off work.
