Hello all,

Got certified around 2 months ago in Monterey, but currently residing in the LA area! It's great to meet you all, and I'm sure I will be asking a lot of questions regarding equipment recs and local dive spots.

Welcome! Im in the Los Angeles area myself too!
Do you have any recommendations for dive spots or dive shops around the Santa Monica area? Looking to meet some new people so I can dive more actively!

There’s “In too Deep” in Santa Monica and eco dive. My favorite dive shop is zen in Pasadena, followed by Channel Islands Scuba in Thousand Oaks. I’m heading out on the Spectre dive boat out of Ventura on oct 29th, you’re welcome to come along if you’d like. Send a Pm if you’re interested

Hi Richard. I'm based in LA too. Most convenient dive site from Santa Monica is probably vets park in Redondo. If you haven't done Catalina, I recommend taking the ferry and diving casino point dive park. I've taken a few newly certified friends there and they've all had good experiences.
