Grunt? ID

I need an ID on this fish from Bonaire a few weeks ago. I initially thought "Sailor's Choice" but they eye color is wrong, according to the ID books. Also though "White Margate" but no evidence of blue lines on the mouth. I've got a couple shots of this one and a another in the same shots, but the markings are the same and I can't tell what it is. Same size to a bit smaller than the bluestriped grunts.

Looks like a Mangrove Snapper AKA Gray Snapper.

It's a grey snapper. If you look close you can see a slash over it's eye. It's barely visible in some light conditions at certain angles.

Thanks for the quick response. I guess I discounted that because I didn't (don't?) see the slash, but then it does say "often no distinguishing features".
