I haven't really bought anything new in the last 2 years a part from small things here and there as I have more gear than I know what to do with, but today I wanted to buy a new AP Diving Self Inflating SMB, I last got one about 2 years ago new for about £140, now hey are priced at £200! I have an apeks 30m spool with I paid about £45 around the same time, now they are about £100, apeks 90 degree elbow, I paid £38, now priced at £90. I feel like maybe I've missed something but the price of scuba gear is getting crazy.

The world hasn't been the same since COVID and now it is the war in the Middle East and the closure of the Red Sea for marine traffic. It is the "sellers" market now in all types of products not just the scuba equipment business. Equipment manufacturers in Asia were hard hit in terms of specialized staff and business closures and thus we are all paying for the losses.

like everything else?

Don't buy Apeks and AP. Other stuff is better-valued.
