kathi:
I just found this site - hoping some local Florida divers can give me some tips about where to dive around Boca Raton. Will be coming in on vacation and need to find a local dive operator who is great with TLC - i.e. we need tanks and weights on the boat. Any suggestions?

Ooooppss just realized that I'd already posted on this   Ohh well, I'll leave the links as they are Ops that I've either dove with, or come highly recommended...

I'm from CO, and have dove in FL. Splashdown dives in Boynton Beach has a great reputation.

In West Palm beach, here are a few Ops that have favorible reviews.

One of my favorite Dives in that area is Jupiter. The reefs tend to be at 80~fsw, so I'd highly recommend Nitrox.

I really like Captain Paul, and the Temptation, they run a great OP, and will rent Steel Yolk E8 HP 100's if you like.

All these Ops will have tanks and weights available. Some include tanks in the dive cost, many don't as they all cater to FL residents as well as the traveling diver, so many FL divers like to bring their own tanks, and not pay for the rental.

Hi Ron, thanks so much for the info. I think I'll call Splashdown divers as they are not too far from where I'll be in Delray Beach. Hoping to find an Op that doesn't mind tourists - I know they are all used to the local crowd.

Do you ever dive with any of the Denver shops? Kathi

I have done all my training with A1, so I've done the Blue hole with them a few times. I have not done any travel via the LDS's here, but I can recommend A1 for sure. They have a full travel agency, and do regular exotic dive trips.

In general we have a group of folks here in Denver that dive together. Not alot of good diving here, but we have fun, and get wet. We also ride share down to the hole a few times over the winter just to dive. The whole experience is about friends, fun SI's, and to get a few good training dives in to keep up the skills. There are lots of ways to pass the time on a 45 minute dive at the hole that make one a better diver, so we do just that. I've made some good friends on Scubaboard.

Check out the Rocky Mountain Oysters forum.

Many of us have drysuits, and we will plan some trips both that can be done wet in a 7mm, and dry as spring approaches.
