I just got back from Roatan this past Saturday. I did the online pre-check for immigration. I was asked on the plane if I'd done it online, or if I needed the paper form. Supposedly, the immigration system will pull up your pre-check when they enter your passport number, so they don't have to ask to see anything.

I did still have to fill out the little paper form at the airport when leaving. They didn't check it for anything, just collected it and had me move along to security check.

Great Meeting MrChen!!!

I ended up doing the online immigration for arrival and departure. I just had to show the QR code and move along.

On the flight out of Roatan, I did get into an argument on the Roatan security line with three security agents. They would not allow my carry-on roller to be a carried on. After going back and forth with them and regrettably raising my voice I was escorted back out of the secure area with no explanation. When I asked to speak to his boss he said only if I could speak spanish. I was forced to check my carry-on and then allowed to go through security again. Second time through they decided to now take apart my camera backpack and look at every item. Fun times.

What a sad state the reef is currently in. I have to believe it will not come back in my lifetime.
