Has anyone ever used one for Spiny Lobster in California? I was just reading the DFG regulation and it says that they maybe used. Look forward to any feedback anyone has regarding these.

Thanks

hooping can be rewarding, but it's quite a bit of work. The bugs stay in the net only through centrifugal force, so you have to pull them quickly -- not so easy with a net loaded with bait. Stinky bait seems to work best. I use old bait or fish carcases and maybe a can of oily cat food with a few holes punched in it. Make sure your bait is protected (in a cage or chicken wire or something) from seals. I believe the DFG rules are 5 nets per person, and 10 max per boat. Have fun!
