Greetings!

I'm currently working on a study involving the California horn shark (Heterodontus francisci). I figured that this forum would be a good place to ask:

Have you seen horn sharks while diving north of Point Conception?

If you have, what time of year was it? Was it a juvenile? Adult?

There are some scattered (and rare) reports of horn sharks north of P.C., but I wanted to get some direct input from some experienced California divers.

Thanks for your time!

Cheers,
Sean

about 4 years ago i've seen fishermen off san mateo/burlingame pier fished out horn shark from the sf bay..

Hello Sean,

I have 100+ dives north of Pt conception and have not seen a horn shark (have seen several horn sharks south of however so have no trouble identifying them).

I read trip reports regularly and do not recall any one else reporting any sightings either.

good luck, and let us know where we can read your findings when you are done.
Ken
