They have way more orings than all a full doubles ready to dive reg set,

I usually install the orings dry,
Just before assembly on something like the I use a tiny bit fluid film, its food grade,

I'm married to a librarian, who has explained to me (several times...) that the various dictionaries have various policies about definitions, some being proscriptive (here is how people should be using this word) and some being descriptive (here is how people are currently using this word). M-W is descriptive. The OED is proscriptive. The American Heritage Dictionary is very descriptive for American English; it has "any viscous lubricant" as the second meaning of "grease."
