If you are looking for reliable High Pressure air that is portable and the ability to tow a Boat or RV Camper this is the perfect unit. The vehicle also seats up to 5 people. Our scuba diving store hosted many remote diving activities at the waters edge and this was the answer.

Ingersoll Rand Rand 4R15 15cfm 5000psi compressor installed in a 1985 Chevrolet Suburban. The compressor is powered off the vehicle engine via PTO coming of the transfer case.

The vehicle was purchased new for the purpose of installing the compressor. The vehicle is a one owner vehicle and has been extremely well maintained. If service or replacement was needed it was done. I would not hesitate to drive this vehicle to anywhere in the USA. It currently has 168,400 miles on it. Following is a listing of some of the major service the vehicle has had:

  • New long block engine from GM at 100,000 miles.
  • Transmission and Transfer Case rebuild less that 20,000 miles ago.
  • New Tires.
  • Complete Brake servicing less that 30,000 miles ago.
  • Body repainting.
This is a listing of the major items. Like I said if the vehicle need service or repair it received it.

The 4R15 compressor was originally used and spec'd out for the government/military. It is one of the most durable compressor ever built. With proper maintenance you will not wear it out. I has pumped many tank fills over the years and still has many years of service left. This compressor would easily take care of the needs for a full service scuba diving operation. I been using the same model compressor (electric motor) in my dive business since the 1970's. If interested I also have a portable 6 bottle Cascade System that is the ideal match for the compressor and would make a great system for scuba diving operation/store. I know because I have been using the system since the 70's.
