As for your question about diving sites in Northern Israel there quit a few and very good ones at that. One of the more intresting ones is the Italian WW2 submarine that lies just outside of Hiafa. The Sirah lies at 36 meters and is a dive for advanced divers. Most of the other wrecks are at 15 to 20 meters. The Achziv Canyon is fantastic and you can met up with some really neat and huge sting rays! The Achziv area is also good for shallow water diving, and there's a diving outfitter just off the shore so you can walk with your equipment on to the sea! They are called Trek Yam. There's also Putsker at the Marina of Naharyia, Indigo at Sha'va Tzion each dive club has its area. Anyway, the real diving season here in Israel starts in October the sea is calmer which is good for off the beach diving and the visiblity is very good more the 15 meters. I enjoy taking my wife and family skin diving during October, November. The sea just comes alive with huge schools of small fish just swerling about you. Hope you enjoy yourself.

So you're basically saying that those of us stuck in the centre need to find tents/places to stay up north from October? :D
