Just bought semi dry, question on weights

Tank position can play a roll in this as well, try raising your tank up slightly. A weight belt might help by putting the weight on your hips instead of near your kidneys.
 
There are some weight belts that have a series of 5 pockets. They’re thicker than the standard web belts and might be a good solution for you. We use them with our semi dries to not stress out bcd pockets.
 
Put your suit in a mesh bag.......go to water........place weights in bag until it sinks.......that’s how much weight your suit will need.......add if you use and Al tank.....add if you use a poodle jacket, add if you dive salt water.. Never use ankle weights.
