talk about selling at a loss; just curious but what forced you to scrap 'em?

yep - sad to think materials cost is about $5.10 per tank.....

if the cost of new cylinders is actually reflective of production costs, then the production lines are either terribly inefficient or there's way too much overhead cost involved - or the companies are making an insane profit margin per cylinder:ermm:

Not sure where you scrapped them but you should have gotten much more than $5/cylinder.

checked a coupla places - said going rate was about .17 /lb for aluminum - I prob got shafted - two were old tanks the wife of a deceased friend asked me to haul away - one was screwed up by a hydro facility and they replaced the tank.

Selling price is 89¢ Honest Al's Scrap~ Get rich while you drink beer!

They make great gongs and if you cut off the top 6", they are excellent for displaying regulators for retail or collector.

You can fill them with match heads for a You Tube video.
