Travelling light is one thing but taking excessive hand carry is another story.

I don't think the crew will stop you from wearing your booties, computer(watch), diving shorts with bulging pocket, hood, mask and wet suit on board though. Travelling with style, isn't it?
 
Trust me, I'd *seriously* considered buying sneakers-like booties (like the Poseidon's and Altama's) and the Frogskin suit as well as using a regular beanie in lieu of a hood, only because they would be more socially acceptable to wear outside of a dive context. The Poseidon's and Altama's are actually comfier than most average shoes - they could be considered higher end footwears. Frogskin is a multi-sport garment and used in cross-country, skiing, etc. But yeah I ended up getting a real hood (uhm Frogskin hood, so I'll use it when I go skiing this winter) and booties possibly even comfier than the Altama's, esp underwater...
