Looking for a buddy this coming weekend for Rainbow River, Crystal River, etc.

Hi all,

I'm in Hudson FL until wednesday. Looking to get some dives in anywhere within an hour or 2 of Hudson. Anyone looking for a buddy this weekend? Alternatively, are there any pickup dive groups that meet at these locations? I dive regularly in SD with a meetup group but I haven't found anything similar for the Tampa area. Thanks!

Hey there, the Florida dive scene is mostly centered around FB. Not sure about Tampa area clubs, but if you are looking for a buddy for Rainbow try the Florida Springs Dive Club or Scuba Monkey Dive Club groups on Facebook.

Both do monthly club dives in the springs, but neither have one scheduled for this weekend.

Right now almost everything is browned out, except for Rainbow River, Manatee Springs, and the private springs (Ginnie, Devil’s Den, Blue Grotto). I hear Buford is clear too (and it’s down in your area), but it’s a more advanced dive.

You could also pay for a guide, if you aren’t able to find a buddy.
