Scooter, Pay attention to Craig, You need to check further on the piston issue before you reassemble.

Quick update as I still have a weeks worth of tanks to get filled.

I received and installed the new plunger Thursday night. As advised I did a very thorough inspection of the piston and walls while I had the jug off and I was surprised at how good it looked.

Besides a stuck fourth stage valve that needed repaired after replacing the plunger the compressor if purring like a kitten. Well it sounds a lot better than it did anyway:)

I can't thank wookie enough for his troubleshooting expertise. He saved me a lot of time and money trying to figure out what was wrong. Actually my local parts distributer still hasn't even come up with a part number for the fourth stage plunger assembly. Thankfully I was able to get some good advise from wookie and also find a service center who knows their product.

Craig if any of those fire depts want to trade for a little more experienced machine I'm your man!
