mares mr22 and aqualung titan

Hi,

Does anyone have experience with bot the Mares MR22 (Abyss) and Aqualung Titan first stages? Are the HP seat poppets interchangeable between the two? to my eyes (and caliper), all the important sizes of the poppets are identical (the diameter of the plastic puck is different, but I suppose only the part in contact with the crown matters anyway). The Mares poppet is far more expensive, so it would be nice to be able to substitute with the other one.

They are.
I've been doing it for years. Mares had a problem with their seats pitting and as you say they are very expensive.
I believe the new tri-material seat is more durable but I've never tried it since the blue AL seats work great and are 1/3 of the price.

........check that the pin height is the same when inserted in the two seats. I've never had to do any trimming but should check just the same.
.......1st stages with the SCS seat use a different poppet.
