I found this little guy in the lake behind my house. His shell was only about two inches across. I captured him and tormented him with a camera for a little while. He was a very cooperative model.

Blue Moon:
I was up at the lake yesterday and this mallard hen posed for me. I was very close to her as I shot this with my Canon EOS 30D & EF 24-105mm f/4L IS USM.

Blue,
I wanted to see my swan with your duck. I love the gold shading and frame on the duck.

PermanentlyNarced, great focus on the turtle's eyes. Well done.

CheddarChick - I think that is some kind of alien cocoon.... Kudos for being brave enough to touch it...

cfElliott - my duck likes your swan... My original was shot in harsh conditions as it had just finished raining, the light was bad and the water has about 2 inches of visibility on a good day as the Red River feeds Lake Texoma...

I liked the hens expression so I figured that I'd play around with the water in PSE 5. I still have some work to do on it but so far I like the possibilities you can get with this enhancement...

For the sake of comparison, here is the original hen image sans any post editing other than resized for the web just to show the difference that a few post edits enhancements can have.

I like what you did with the water, Blue Moon.

Say hi, Eddie. Tell 'em it was your first time to the beach. Tell 'em all that your new favorite hobby is biting waves.
