Maine Marine Patrol investigating death of scuba diver from Massachusetts - The Portland Press Herald / Maine Sunday Telegram
The Maine Marine Patrol is investigating the circumstances of the drowning of a recreational scuba diver off Monhegan Island on Saturday.
Anna Krowczynska, 61, of Chelmsford, Massachusetts, was diving in 25 feet of water when she failed to surface with the rest of her group, said Jeff Nichols, spokesman for the Department of Marine Resources.

Krowczynska was diving off the eastern tip of Monhegan with five other divers from Massachusetts on a guided trip. The group was diving from the Lady Anne, a charter dive boat operated by Dave Sinclair, owner of Sea Ventures Charters of Wayne, Maine, Nichols said.
When Krowczynska failed to surface around noon, a member of the group found her and brought her to the surface. Members of the party performed CPR and she was brought to Port Clyde, where local emergency workers pronounced her dead.

How sad!! We were just on Monhegan in June. How tragic!

Anna's passing is a great loss to the MA diving community. She was a solid diver. I have dove with her a few times. Hate to hear about these accidents.
