OK, several threads have asked what BCD they use, which one to buy and so on. I must say that the response to these has been very helpful in making my personal decision on my next BCD.

But today I would like to maybe narrow the scope of the thread. Maybe some more great info will come out of this for junior divers like me. So I ask all of you a few Questions;

When you dive:
BCD Brand:?
BCD Model?
Tech or Rec:?
Warm or Cold Water:?
What state/country do you live in:?
How many BCD's have you owned in your diving career:?
Was there something you wish was different on you current BCD?
What is 1 good thing in particular about your BCD, or what made you buy it?

NOTE: I do NOT work for any Manufacturer, LDS, or Consumer Reports. But my curiosity has been peaked.

Zeagle get mentioned twice yet Halcyon/OxyCheq/DeepSeaSupplies/Triple-L get left off? They would be four of the oft-most mentioned brands on ScubaBoard of late.

Poll is flawed because you're limited to 10 options.

Mine not there either, Cressi
Rec
Warm
Yap

Got it used from a guest for cheap so i took it...

I agree with Scubaroo, you're missing quite a few brands there.

Incidentally, crayon me in for Halcyon.

*Edit - Oops, missed the other questions:

BCD Brand: Halcyon
BCD Model: Pioneer wing w/ SS BP
Tech or Rec: Currently Rec, but will be going Tech sometime in the future
Warm or Cold Water: Fffffffreezing
What state/country do you live in: Upstate NY, USA
How many BCD's have you owned in your diving career: 2 (other was Seaquest ProQD+)
Was there something you wish was different on you current BCD: Nope, it's perfect.
What is 1 good thing in particular about your BCD, or what made you buy it: Infinitely more intuitive than a "jacket" BC, it will grow with me as I move up in my diving to more technical skillsets.

Sorry guys, the 2nd Zeagle was supposed to be 'Other'. This was based on the top 10 BCD's reported during a previous online raffle for a Zeagle BCD. Im trying to get in touch with a SB Admin to fix my goof. Sorry, had to limit to 10 due to the board options.

BCD Brand: Scubapro.

BCD Model: S-Tek harness/TravTek wing.

Tech or Rec: Recreational.

Warm or Cold Water: Warm.

What state/country do you live in? Thailand.

How many BCD's have you owned in your diving career?
Just this one (until my BP arrives).

Was there something you wish was different on you current BCD?
The weight-integrate pockets are quite badly designed and I wish it came with a crotch strap (ended up attaching a Zeagle split saddle harness years ago), but the S-Tek has never let me down. I am switching to a Halcyon BP/Eclipse 30 soon in preparation for DIR-F.

What is 1 good thing in particular about your BCD, or what made you buy it?
Modular, compact and uncluttered design—I can also change wings if I need to. I bought it because it was a cheaper (but very well made) copy of the BC I wanted, Dive Rite’s Transpac I. Single tank diving with BP/wing simply didn’t exist in Thailand back in 2000, when I bought the S-Tek (Dive Rite and OMS could be found in Thailand but was VERY expensive and Scubapro had just discontinued the X-Tek system).

BCD Brand: Scubapro
BCD Model: Ladyhawk
Tech or Rec: Rec
Warm or Cold Water: Warm
What state/country do you live in: MA USA

Was there something you wish was different on you current BCD? I want pockets. The rollup pocket doesn't count.
What is 1 good thing in particular about your BCD, or what made you buy it? Fit/tank stability. My last one was softpack and felt sloppier the older it got.

Not at all. Finally found the one the that works best for any single diving that I do.

What is 1 good thing in particular about your BCD, or what made you buy it?
Performance, performance, performance. This trims out the best of any BCD that I've ever owned or tried.

Both - 45 to 90 degrees F

I wish it didn't cost so damn much...

What is 1 good thing in particular about your BCD, or what made you buy it?
Simple design...great system for Rec to Tech. Modular...ability to change with my diving habits. Works just as good with single tanks, double tanks, and rebreather. Comfy as they come. Just plain looks cool as ****!
