my CDEX 2007 report

I attended the China Beijing Dive Exhibit, it is more than my
expectation that our D.O.T. Team China, lead by KIKO, and GIGI our
D.O.T. Phil. at Beijing lead by Chief Jazmin Esguerra, she was so
capable to get us a medium size, but very center stage, super attractive
booth, with 3 china beauties to assist the promotion, all our D.O.T.
leaders working very hard to promote Philippines-----to sum it all,
people taxes money well spend!
even our (future) senator Harry Angpin and congress women Naida visit
our booth daily to give us encouragement.
my only disappointment's is the young senator w/c used to have a TV show
on environment tour with diving never reply my request for him to visit,
just guess who? he would have be our STAR!
next year china dive exhibit, if ever the Philippines go to join in
Shanghai. I wish our beloved senator Escudero will bring his own
WHALESHARK together with our environmentalist senator Madrigal to visit
the Philippines booth to boost the Philippines morale and cheer us up
just like what senator Angpin did.
CDEX is good to join, since two of our tourism competitors , the
Thailand n Singapore gov't may shy away, only the private sector. they
belong to the ADEX, w/c is bias to us.
wish more private dive resorts will participate in the future. if I am
there, I do promote selling for the best and biggest to the remove off
beaten dive resort, unlike a hire interpreter only interpret. I have the
opportunity to translate, deliver a Why Dive the Philippines seminar, be
interview by China press, sell Philippines divesite and enjoy deliver it
in Pu Tong Hua. China diving business is developing superfast, and
the Philippines have the best divesite, is nearest to china. so it all
depend on how your coorperate and how your package it. we should not
fail, because the PCSSD with D.O.T. the gov't is working very hard for
us! .
BTW, i was able to have picture taken with my 3 diving ICON, Hal Watts,
Gary L. Taylor, and John Lippmann.

Great stuff Dingho. We want to see pics of the 3 lovely booth ladies.

Now I know most people are cringing and thinking great, mainland chinese divers in the PI... There goes the neighborhood...

But in the long run, in addition to boosting Philippine tourism, I hope the growing masses of mainland Chinese divers will appreciate the beauty underwater and go back home with a sense of conservation including putting a stop to shark fin soup...

Have fun in Sipidan... After Cocos, kind of lost any urge to go to Sipidan... Maybe a Maldives trip for some good viz, mantas, whalesharks, CALM SEAS, and LOTS OF SUN!...

Isn't the new Maldives Aggressor delayed?
