We saw a whale again today while at the Mahi, we were still on the mooring and had one surface not 40 yards away. The whale surfaced 4 or 5 times and then decided to go away.....cool thing it was.
The vis was terrible (30-40 ft.)......

the whale was way cool..
when it surfaced and spouted.. and arched its dorsal fin up and over..
it was beautiful..

yeah.. the bad viz made the mahi kinda eery..
"is it gonna collapse right now?"..
my first dive on the mahi.. nize large shipwreck..
but it is in pretty bad shape =/ 'wouldn't dare go in it.

...Lol...I too was on this dive (way better on the second dive than dive #1 by the way you 2)...anyways...calling 30+ feet vis...terrible...lol--it's a treat after the 5-10ft vis I got on average in California. Maybe we should go to the Lagoon to do the siltout stuff afterall:)

On a surge-ie day you can see the top part go back and forth....scary:11:

Still a lovely wreck, though. I'd like to dive her again, someday.

I am still jealous about the whale. Ed and I did see the biggest Eagle Ray we have ever seen though. It passed within a few feet of me and him and was 5-6 foot wingspan with a body that as big around as a 3-4 year old kid.

No more throwing the anchor on that LCU either now.

I actually ran into a pod of dolphins as I was swimming my kayak in today. A couple got as close as 10 feet.

fishboy,
you made it, was hoping to hear from you tonight! How was that swim? Oh, I forgot to get that tank back, will get back in a.m., no worries......
Found some tearage on my webbing on my BP, hope it lasts thru tomarrow and Monday.......
