Neck chafing from BCD

Not sure if is too late for you..
I had same issue, but used a scarf / large handkerchief tied to my neck, so it stays raight there.
it really helps.

What if you glue some thin neoprene or other smooth/ soft fabric to the BC where it is rubbing?

I have an Avid also and dive it often. I do like it. I have had an intermittant rub of some sort at the back of my neck. It just seems to come and go. I am thinking that it is a matter of how the straps are tightened and perhaps the chest strap as mentioned here.
No real answers from me but you are not alone.
