Reef Builders International and Coral Reefs 101 Foundation a South Florida based non profit have teamed up to form the Purple Heart Dive Team. This is a program that is designed to expose our military veterans that were wounded in the line of duty protecting our freedom to the scuba dive experience and the current projects under development by Reef Builders International as part of their rehabilitation. The projects are the SAVE OUR REEFS project and Atlantis Memorial Reef.
We are interested in the stories of our heroes and the sharing of their stories of overcoming adversity with children’s classrooms in our community. We believe that they are excellent role models and it would be a great benefit to the students. Today we are lacking heavily of positive role models that will take the time to reach out to kids. With the current climate of music and celebrity there is a constant loosening of morals and negative behaviour that children are exposed to through TV, music and other forms of media. We feel that these brave men and women are the alternative and will provide a breath of fresh air to the future leaders of our great nation.
Please visit our website for the list of needs that will make this program requires, or contact the foundation at the number or email listed below. We are also looking for volunteer divers and organizers. We look forward to hearing from you.
Any one interested in donating to or volunteering with this program is asked to contact the foundation at the number listed below. For more information please visit our website for updates about our Purple Hearts art auction on November 15th.
