No BCD - Kona Shore Diving

While I do not disagree that diving without a bcd is possible ( I started when a bcd was concidered optional) a couple of things specific to Kona occurred to me. I've dove there a few times and there is often some swell that would induce some up and down motion in the 15ft range. Depending on the topography you can get moved around quite a bit. Not a big deal but more like 30ft is more comfortable.

If "a while" is long enough to become acclimatised to the local temps, like most locals you might choose a thicker wetsuit. Bigger buoyancy shift.

I have had some great dives in Kona and especially Kohala
