I'm trying to remember an alternative airport to the big three around NYC that is/was on Long Island. I can't seem to find it. Whatever it was, did it close?? I'm talking commercial aviation.

Islip (ISP)

Yes!!! Did it close? It's not showing up on Google maps.

Did the name change? I don't remember it being called MacArthur. But, I'm not an aviation enthusiast either.
Yes, but I’m not sure when. Most people, at least as far as I know, still call it Islip.

Wow! According to Google, it changed in 1978. Talk about a bad uptake! :rofl3:
