I know of course that your funning, and frankly I think I could enter that surf too, especially considering those breaks are relatively far off shore, the water under the waves is plenty deep enough to go down early. But there are two other issues with these waves - the very reef and bottom conture that formed them must really suck on vis because of the powerful washing machine effect and the 10x overhead would cause some exciting changes in atmospheric pressure in the water column. In the links to the additional photos from that series I think some of those waves were a full additional atmosphere of pressure change. Wouldn't want to be at the very top of a deep inhale as one of those demons passes overhead.

great link fishfood. excellent thread all. monster surf eh? too bad the knees aren't up to working a board anymore. ahhhh...the good ole days. looks like shore diving is out for awhile now...knew the storms would start lining up at some point. good opportunity to rest and get the back squared away. gym will be mobbed soon with all the fatties workin' their resolutions. my resolution involves some fish with big smiles in guadalupe.

I'm crying you weren't there today at Avalon Dive Park at Casino Point we had several scubaboard members there, really rocked. You better get back in your feet fast bro.
