Panama City - St. Andrews Viz Report July 3, 2011

[Hetland]

Met up with Recharge, JHayes, DocCarl and TessUnderwater last weekend for two tanks at the jetties.

Viz was (no lie) right at 40ft, the best, or close to the best I have ever seen. Temp was bath-water warm, and I was a little hot in my 3mm suit. We saw all the usual critters, but noticed a half-dozen or so flounder starting to move in. We also spotted a tiny seahorse in the kiddie pool and escorted him into the rocks so he would have a better chance of survival.

Debrief was at Red Rose near Pat's shop. I had a delicious Italian sandwich, and plan to return for other items on on of my future trips.

That is great news to me. I am going to give it a shot next week for my first time. Do you have any advice? We are looking to dive Tuesday or Wed. what time would be best?

Well that will be tough. High Tide is around 6:20am and the park does not open until 8:00am. You may still be able to dive, but you may not have the greatest viz. The current can get crazy too.
