PLEASE HELP!!!!

3 moths ago I went for a hollyday to Turkey. Fiew days before flight back to Poland me and my girlfriend we decidet to try scuba diving for a first time. There was two dives 4 and 6 meters deep. My girlfriend was fine but I cant say the same about me. Durning first dive I feel big pressure on my ears and even that I was trying to equalize the pressure in my ears I still was feeling uncomfortable. After diving every time I swallow or jawn I hear crakling in my ears. When I came back to Poland I went to see a doctor he told me that my eardrum is fine and probablly I have got some infection. He gave me some antibitic for a week. It didnt help me so next time after next two weeks he told me that I can have water in middle ear I need to wait until it disapear itself. Nothing like that happend. I have to be honest with you I never belive that I had that water in middle ear because my hearing was fine. Another nose and throat specialist told me that my ears are fine and he dont now what is wrong with them. Meybe someone knows what is wrong with my ears????

Hi mareo007,

The symptoms described are consistent with the accumulation of fluid within the middle ear space. This accumulation is not uncommon where the ear has been traumatized by improper equalization.

Typically this fluid is not merely "water" that has been forced into the middle ear (although this can happen), but rather most often is composed of blood, mucus and water from the tissues in the middle ear space.

Usually this liquid clears itself given time, although in the interim it is prudent to monitor for infection.

Of course any additional diving is out until the condition entirely resolves.

Helpful?

Doc Vikingo has the answer, but I have to admit that it is quite unusual for such symptoms to persist for three months after the last dive.

Thank You for replays. So what should I do??? its 3 months already, should I wait for another 3?? Ears dosent hurt me so I can wait, but Im afraid that meybe it can damage my hearing in future?? I also would like to add that whaen I had a qatar for 2 days durning that 3 monts craking in my ears stops :)) I thought that this is the end of my problems but after 2 days it came back again.
