This isn't specifically a holiday recipe, but it's quick, easy and a crowd pleaser when entertaining a big family at this busy time of year (provided they aren't vegetarians)...

CROCK GINGERALE POT STEW

1 pound of lean stew beef
1 can cream of celery condensed soup
1 can cream of mushroom condensed soup (Campbells roast garlic mushroom works best)
3 beef boullion cubes
1 small onion/diced
4-6 medium potatoes/peeled and cubed
2 cups sliced carrots
1/4 cup red wine
8 ounces of gingerale

Dredge the stew meat in flour and lightly brown in oil. Deglaze the pan with wine and pour wine/meat into crockpot. Add all other ingredients, mix well and cook 8-10 hours on low until meat is tender. You can cook it on high for 4 -6 hours, but results are better with slow cooking.

Serves about 6 people.
