Question Recommendations on destinations - August/September 2024

I'm looking for a diving vacation destination for Labor Weekend-ish 2024 (08/31-09/06). Flying out of East Coast, NC.

I was thinking maybe Costa Rica/Gulf of Papagayo but would love suggestions.
Budget is around 2k w/out flights.

I'd like to avoid shore diving. Bit hard with hurricane season around this timeframe. I'm diving in Bali in July.

That's summer in Europe, if you fancy a transatlantic there are lots of options. What sort of thing do you like? Not sure on the $ to £/E rate so how that would sit though.
