Need some help here guys, I have acquired a VERY nice classic reg set and I'm not sure what to do with it... I work w/ a local PS dive team and everyone knows that I prefer the solid old SP stuff over the newer bells and whistles, so I was offered a orphaned set of gear by a gentleman I had never met. Much to my amazement it was an MK1 with 109 second in unused condition. It was delivered to me in the original box (serial # on packaging matched) w/ the owners manual and warranty cards. Normally I use and abuse these regs the way they were meant but this belongs with someone who will appreciate not only the function but the aesthetic as well. If there is a collector among you please send me a message it is for sale but I have no idea the value. Can't bring myself to put it on ebay but welcome anyone who will give it a good home to make an offer. Thanks.

I would expect the same set in used, but could pass for unused, mint condition to be about $130-150.
I couldn't tell you what it might be new in box.....maybe another $100 or so.

Thanks for the input. I figured if any answers were out there I could find them here

I'll post some pics tomorrow I dont have them at work just thought I'd go ahead and start a post to get some input.

Thanks for offering it here.

I would tend to agree with Fishpie on the price. Single hose regulators are not as collectible as double hose, but a NIB early Scubapro would be particularly desirable for some.

I actually have a small collection of all the regulators that Scubapro (and US Divers single hose regulators) sold in the 70's. My particular interest is because those were the ones we carried in the dive shop I worked in at the time. None of mine are in particularly mint condition, but they are good enough for my interest.

Here are some pictures, they are off my phone but at least give a idea of the condition. To put it simply these are "new". I will continue to dive my others but these will just sit so long as I have them. Right now I need to liquidate some of my gear (6 kids and 4 need braces this year!) If anyone wants to add these to a collection by all means make me an offer.

Not looking to retire off selling these but would like to send them on to someone. Anyone with an interest please make an offer...

Just so you'll know, this is the regulator which beat out their more expensive first stage, the Mk V (if my memory is correct) in the U.S. Naval Experimental Diving Unit tests. It led to the newer Mk 10, with a LP outlet in-line with the piston's opening. This is a high-performing regulator.

Thanks for your input John. I tend to agree w/ you this "ancient relic" would probably hold it's own against any modern, over engineered, overly complicated, "performance" set that would set you back a second mortgage.
