On Saturday, February 2nd 2013 the beautiful La Perouse landmark of Bare Island will be transformed into a celebration of all things ocean.

World-renowned chefs Tony Bilson (Danny’s Seafood Restaurant), Peter Kuruvita (My Sri Lanka, Flying Fish Fiji), Massimo Mele (Hugo’s), Mark Jensen (Red Lantern), Tom Walton (Bondi Bucket List), Paul Cooper (Bishop Sessa), Hamish Ingham and Josh Niland (Grain, The Woods) head an all-star line-up of food-industry masters who will entice and educate fair-goers with their best seafood knowledge and recipes.

“Everyone needs the ocean, even those who don’t know it. If we can show how it’s all connected we can create a world where our great-grandkid’s-kids will get to have the same fresh seafood we do today.” - Mark Jensen (Red Lantern)
"Bare Island is one of Sydney's - no, Australia's - best dive sites. Port Jackson sharks, friendly blue groupers, Sydney Pygmy Pipehorses, all the nudibranchs you could want, weedy sea dragons and so much more. If you haven't dived it, you haven't dived in Oz." - Jamie Illistom (Sydney Dive Academy)
"Food, air, entertainment - we get all these things from the ocean, we can’t have one without the other. Although they might not seem it, everything’s connected.” - Peter Kuruvita (Flying Fish, Serendip)
“The idea is a fun, free, factual day out where we make the connections between sustainable seafood, the recreational ocean industry and groups working to preserve our seas clear. Sustainability won’t take if we shove it down people’s throats - we have to make it appeal to their tastebuds too!” - Denéa Buckingham (PADI Divemaster, Rabbit Earth)

Sustainable seafood guru’s Joto Seafood team up with environmental organisations and world-class restaurants to inform and entice guests of Sea Flavour with the tasty treats our oceans have to offer.

Featuring live music, activities for kids of all ages, tours of the beautiful Bare Island Fort, educational entertainment by the Fisheries Research & Development Corporation of Australia and the NSW Parks & Wildlife Authority, Sea Flavour makes conservation a fun, festive occasion rather than a hot topic. Munch on a Byron Bay Cookie, go for a dive with new buddies, support the Sea Shepherd crew, take a seafood masterclass and much more.

PADI 5 star dive shop Sydney Dive Academy will offer PADI Discover Scuba Diving experiences, Oceanic shows off their latest and greatest dive gear, and chat spearfishing with Frog Dive; foodies, fish-lovers, surfers and sea-lovers from far and wide are invited to enjoy Sea Flavour - together for a greater good.

“With every drop of water you drink, every breath you take, you’re connected to the sea. No matter where on Earth you live.”

Tickets are FREE and available at www.seaflavour.doattend.com with more info, masterclass schedules, recipes and pictures at www.seaflavour.com.au
