SeaCure, the leader in customized regulator mouthpiece accessories has just released details of a new study that has great significance to the scuba diving industry. According to this study from the Journal of Oral Rehabilitation, every scuba diver has a 41% chance of developing jaw pain and or joint damage from the mouthpiece that retailers potentially offer them.
Product designers at SeaCure know that standard mouthpieces put very high forces on the muscles and jaw joints. This research shows what we have suspected for years - that poor mouthpieces are directly related to the development of jaw problems in divers who previously had no symptoms!
SeaCure continues to lead the recreational scuba industry in providing custom mouthpieces that can help reduce jaw fatigue and pain that can lead to irreversible damage. During the upcoming DEMA Trade Show, SeaCure will be on hand to talk more about this study AND provide an opportunity for dive professionals to customize their own SeaCure mouthpiece.
