Sinnai, Sìnnia in Sardinian language, is a comune (municipality) of the Metropolitan City of Cagliari in the Italian region Sardinia, located about 12 kilometres (7 mi) northeast of Cagliari.

Marcello Asuni, 63 years old, drowned in the waters of Pistis , near Torre dei Corsari, along the coast a few kilometers from Arbus: he felt ill during a dive, but managed to go up and reach the rocks. He died there. The 118 helicopter was also on site, but the medical team on board could not help but confirm the death. The Carabinieri of the Arbus company were also present for the investigation.

A man of the Sinnai diving club, where he was a historical figure together with his brother Roberto, who grew up at sea with master Mario Ligas, Asuni knew every corner of the sea: the news reached Sinnai immediately, leaving an immense condolence. Passionate about the sea and tourism, Asuni ran a boat in Villasimius, introducing tourists to the most beautiful coasts in the area.

« An extraordinary figure, a profound connoisseur of the sea – defined him by Paride Cardia, president of the Sinnai sub Club – He was also a sportsman, contributing with his brother Roberto to founding and growing rugby in Sinnai with championships also played at a national level».

Today in Sinnai everyone remembers him with great regret: a champion of life.
