My OW certification dives were blessed with a nice white blanket of snow. Fond memories... fading memories... thankfully...

I learned.

I am also a wimp. Every dive since than has been highly tropical. Although we once had extremely cold weather in Belize when they got snow in southern Texas. The boat quickly sold out of all available sweat pants and tops and some of the patrons resorted to wearing their bathrobes around the boat. Socks and sandals became acceptable. Scandalous!

We have a large, heated lake here in West Virginia, which is really great for winter diving. There can be a foot os snow and ice on the docks, but the water is a balmy 50 degrees.

Alas, fisherman caused a lot of problems and the lake is not closed to diving.
