Personally, I would wait for the Atom to come out. The Atom should cost less (watch without transmitters) than the Stinger when it comes out (according to my sources) and the difference in features is night and day - which isn't really astonishing considering that the stinger is a bit long in the tooth. The Atom should blow away any of the Citizen watches and the Mares Nemo as well.

The only real factor that is yet to be determined is whether or not the Atom will be a nice looking, everyday watch...

Pic act Oceanic website suggests rubber and/or plastic. No metal means not really an every day look....imho.

Any insight as to replacement cycle planned for the ... "long in the tooth" ... Stinger?

Possible, but since it's only a picture, I'm going to wait and see. For the $400-$500 bucks you'll spend on one of these watches, I'd wait until they're all out. I hate making purchases and then drooling over what came out 2 months later, wishing I'd waited.

As far as a replacement for the Stinger, I haven't heard of anything. One would assume they will have something more in the next year or so, just based on the number of competitors in that space (Mares Nemo, Citizen CyberAqualand NX, Oceanic Atom, probably an Aeris version of the Atom) and Suunto's high price point..
