Hi All!

New to Scubaboard and fairly new to diving. Does anyone have any recommendations for a dive shop at our stops of St. Maarten, St. Thomas or Nassau? Here's some info about us:

  • Cruising with Norwegian in early March, 2014
  • Wife and I are PADI certified Open Water divers and have been on about 7 dives.
  • Our 14 and 17 year old daughters will be with us. They snorkel but are not scuba certified.
  • We're looking for the best island to book a two-dive trip. I'm hoping the Dive Master will let our daughters come along and snorkel above where we dive.
  • Would prefer to dive St. Maarten or St. Thomas/St. John as we're probably going to check out Atlantis in Nassau.

Any suggestions? Many thanks!

From what I've read St. Thomas has a much stronger reputation as a dive destination than St. Maarten does, so of the 2, plan on St. Thomas. That's where I had good experience with Admiralty Dive.

Options you will need to consider:

Use the cruise ship's scuba outing - or book your own outing.
If you book your own - you will need to contact the dive shops and see shat they will do for you.
A big big consideration is - will they pick you up at the cruise ship pier and what time will you be dropped back off.

A second consideration is which location to dive. I would suggest you research both and go with the one with the best (according to you criteria) package.
