There's another thread about whether you should dive with backup SPGs when using AI. The OP was not asking for advice about alternate SPGs. You've made your point now please move on.

As for the OP question. I've never seen that happen. It could also be a problem with the first stage HP port... I'd definitely be alert if you plan on diving with it again. If it seems to be misbehaving, you should probably just end the dive.

If it's going to cost you $100 to repair, plus sending it in and whatnot, you may want to consider just buying another transmitter. LP has them listed used at around $200: Oceanic Atom VT Pro/VT3 Transmiter Only (refurbished) from LeisurePro.com
