My experience has not been the same unfortunately, Ive had plastic buckles break on Cressi fins and twice on Mares fins.

FWIW the mares were the older two piece clip together buckles. Not sure if they still make those or not.

The cressi was likely my fault as I think I dropped weight belt on it but mares I've no idea. Regardless, plastic buckles now give me pause .

And many others on here have pause and repeat the pause where others hear the pause

Regardless the pause goes on and on where all that is required is not to drive the car into the tree

True, I'll concede that, not an apples to apples comparisons. I guess that's possibly why mares no longer use those straps on new fins (?)

Spring straps all the way, I even changed the straps on my Mares fins to springs as these plastic clips are a PITA.

Cheap too and easy to customise length.​
