"Do I like the idea of getting blown sideways out of an airliner at 38,000 feet by some brain-damaged zealot with a knot of C-4 nestled beneath his scrotum? As I plummet screaming from the blot of smoke that used to be a 727, will I find serenity in my final moments because I know the guy who killed me didn't have his rights violated by the gendarmes of the TSA? No and no. Do I think there are enough credible dangers out there to justify heightened security measures, especially during the holiday season? I'm leaning towards yes, and if that amounts to political heresy, so be it."

#1. What does he fly on to get onto 727 nowadays? ConAir?

#2. Knot of C4 probably wouldn't bring 727 down.

What is "enough credible danger"? We've established that probability is 1 in 10 million.
I guess we need to start some government agency to help us with lightning strikes as probability is 1 in half a million.

So aside of him still on 727 (which indicates he hasn't flown for a decade or so it seems) he also wrote:

there are tens of millions of Americans who don't give a single damn about the issue of TSA screening, because they are broke and unemployed and getting foreclosed on, which means they can't afford to fly.

So how is that an argument? If you are not flying why do you care about this? It doesn't impact you, not even a bit.

On the other hand us frequent fliers (flying weekly or sometimes more) are rightfully upset with this security theater. Now give me "trusted traveler" program and we'll move on. Then I suspect non-frequent fliers will complain about us "bypassing the TSA rectal probes" they have to go through.

BTW: not everyone spewing things knows anything about it.

Service ceiling of 727 is 36,100 feet.

Truth is out, guy doesn't know what he is talking about.

Is anyone else out there finding the draconian methods being employed by the TSA to be curbing their dive travel? I just canceled a dive trip to Bonaire so that I wouldn't have to submit to state authorized sexual molestation. It's unfortunate that air travel has come to this, I was really looking forward to a couple of big trips I was starting to plan, including Galapagos and Sharm El Sheik.

Now, I'm just going to be limited to where I can get to by car or maybe train.

I'm sure some would question letting such "trivia" keep me from going where I want, but from my perspective, I'm not willing to let politicians, who don't even have to submit to these procedures they're forcing on us, and manufacturers of unproven equipment, make my life hell so someone can make a buck. I don't believe any of these reactionary rules have much to do with safety or security, frankly.

I just passed through security at LaGuardia on my way to Florida. Took about 5 minutes. My carry-on is a pelican case with two regulators, 2 dive computers, a GPS unit, an underwater camera +flash...and some other "stuff"; absolutely no hassles. With all the hype about TSA, personally I have NO COMPLAINTS.

Here is a story:

Judge Dread was given the task of making USA free of terrorist attack. Judge Dread thought he would do that by killing all the people in America! If he could accomplish that then he would be 100% sure that there would not be a terrorist attack in USA. He was not allowed to do that by the government. He then thought that since 98% of terrorist attacks are carried out by men, he should kill all men in America. Statistically that would reduce the probability of terrororism by 98%. He was not allowed to do that either. Then he presented the idea of killing all men in America between the ages of 18 -40. That would reduce the possibility of attack by 86 % . He was not allowed to do that either. Everytime he was denied mass genocide he would say what a lot of people on this board are saying:

"JUDGE DREAD HAS A DIFFICULT JOB AND THAT IS TO PREVENT A TERRORIST ATTACK! WHO WANTS AN AIRLINER BLOWN AWAY"

By narrowing down all the options Judge Dread finally broke a deal with the governmet of USA.

I will be feeling up everyones private parts, If physical molestation of millions of Americans is preventing deaths of a few hundred then my molestation has a moral and a patriotic momentum behind it. SHUT AAAAP! Lemme in your pants ....

Right on SeaHound! I will even strip for you!:mooner:

The TSA is rumored to be considering regulations requiring searching all cars driving near Christmas trees, evergreen trees, or groups of people near evergreen or Christmas trees.
After all, it's for the children! I'll do anything to be safe, even if it means banning public gatherings to light trees. I don't care if they search my car, my tree, or my home if I have a tree. We need to be safe!

Assuming this is correct, what would the probability be without the deterrent of airport security? Let's say it is as easy to get on a plane anywhere in the world as it is easy to get in a taxi. No rights violated, no sexual abuse. Life is good.....except that there are still multiple declarations of Jihad against the satanic west. Let's assume that we have an unlimited number of airplanes and that the public, being the stupid "sheep" that they are, would continue to travel in the numbers that they are now.

How long would it take for this gentleman to obtain a plane ticket?
