Here is why I am the ultimate dork. I was only 14 (am 37 now) when I learned to dive. My mask and snorkel were from a local Target. My fins were full foot pool fins. To certify, I borrowed my neighbor's pack, horsecollar with no auto inflate, and regulator with no octo. This was 1985 mind you so that gear configuration wasn't too out of order. I carpooled with some firefighters from Denver who were going to do rescue eventually. I finally bought a used set of fins for 25.00 and wore socks on my checkout dives to keep the straps from chafing.
 
ha, ha.., I certified in '83.., so I know the gear config well!! Welcome aboard!!:dork2::dork2:
